This July, as Jupiter (expansion, abundance) enters Leo (sun, creativity, self-actualization) join us in The Solar Playground!
In this place, we’ll grant ourselves radical permission to court our desires and chase the threads of our unique interests, to (re)discover who we are and what we’re here to offer.
The times we’re in are intense, and they’re demanding we bring ourselves to the moment, that we offer our gifts. But how can we know what we have to give when we’ve been taught to deny our truths, squash our desires, and hide what makes us unique?
Jupiter’s transit through Leo is an opportunity to expand our self-conception, to explore and embrace where we are uniquely abundant. This is both challenging and deeply important work, in a society that aims to orient us to scarcity and lack.
We’re told (and tell ourselves) we need to be more X before we can do Y, but is that true? Perhaps we just need an opportunity to take stock of ourselves, take a closer look at who we are and what we desire. Perhaps we just need a little Leo spotlighting and cheerleading, to coax our authentic selves out from the shadows.
In this series, we will:
✿ Get lovingly curious about our gifts and our wounds
✿ Go where our desire lead us, without attachment to outcomes (beyond self-understanding)
✿ Experiment with play and creativity in a safe(r) container
✿ Grant ourselves permission to explore, love up on and indulge ourselves in our quirks & interests
✿ Be given prompts, invitations and suggestions — to take in any direction we choose
✿ Practice being as uniquely ourselves as we have access to
✿ Enjoy the company of others to share with & learn from
How it works
During Jupiter’s transit through Leo, we’ll meet monthly to explore our charts using the solar seasons as our guide.
Season by season, we’ll make our way through our placements, dedicating each solar season to whichever part our chart we choose. (e.g. In Leo season, one can explore Leo placements, their sun or their 5th house)
As a group, we’ll discuss the energy of the solar sign, and work with prompts to investigate/excavate those parts of our chart. Then, we’ll break away to play — spending the rest of the season in creative devotion and playful research (with plenty of suggestions of jumping-off points).
The following month, we’ll begin with group shares: what we found, what we made, how it went, what we felt. The goal is simply to notice our desires, and follow our impulses wherever they lead - going off-course is enthusiastically encouraged.
Between monthly gatherings, folks can join optional playdates (biweekly body-doubling calls) for company and accountability.

Your facilitator
Alisha Mawji (she/they) is a space holder and operations coordinator at Embodied Astrology. She’s a Leo rising, Taurus sun, Libra moon, currently living in Tenochtitlan, also known as Mexico City. Her mind often wanders to what drives our behavior as human animals, and finds astrology a deeply informative lens through which to experience the world and those in it. Her work in the world, personally and professionally, revolves around creating and extending empathy, and bringing people together in community. Alisha lives from a space of radical hope, and is confident in the infinite possibilities for our collective future.
