About this series

Embodied Astrology is an intuitive and empowering approach to astrology that begins in the body.

In this in-depth experiential practitioners’ program, you’ll learn to read, interpret and translate astrology’s symbolism through multisensory awareness; access and cultivate your embodied intuition; and communicate with those whose charts you read in ways that are meaningful, direct and relevant to their lived experiences.

Enrollment is limited so sufficient time and attention can be given to all topics, and intimacy can be cultivated both within the cohort, and between Renee and each participant.

Who this series is for

This course is specifically designed for bodyworkers and healers, therapists, physical performers/dancers/actors, and others who are interested in the intersections of astrology and somatics, and astrology’s application to other modalities. 

Intermediate and advanced astrologers will gain somatic techniques and perspectives that will help deepen and integrate their practices, while beginning astrologers will appreciate an approach that leaves a majority of the math and complicated delineation rules behind and gives access to astrology through the immediate wisdom of the sensing body.

  • Learn how to engage with curiosity, open your perception, and communicate around experiences you are personally unfamiliar with

  • Hone your awareness of nonverbal forms of communication

  • Practice nonverbal communication and transmission of energetic states of awareness with others

  • Play with “unseen helpers” and cultivate relationships with ancestors, guides and elemental energies

  • Gain skills and practices in meditation, visualization and experiential anatomy

  • Gain deeper self awareness and insight into your natal chart and learn how astrological timing affects your personal placements

  • Practice giving chart readings to others in a non-stressful, supportive environment where you can receive feedback and assistance

In this series, you will:

  • Craft an ethical, aligned, authentic, and intuitive practice with astrology

  • Learn to identify, interpret, and synthesize the main components of an astrology chart: signs, planets, houses, and aspects.

  • Learn how to read natal and electional charts

  • Learn how to read and forecast timing with transits, secondary progressions and annual profections through your felt-sense and somatic intuition

  • Learn how to read and support relational dynamics between two or more individuals using synastry and composite charts

  • Cultivate and practice using your embodied intuition (clairsentience)

Dates & time commitment

Live sessions will take place weekly (day/time TBD):

  • Biweekly meetings with Renee (2 hrs)

  • Biweekly study groups, (1.5-2 hrs) study group facilitated by a previous YCIAB graduate

Potential days/times for weekly sessions:

  • Wednesday @ 9-11am Pacific

  • Thursdays @ 4-6pm Pacific

  • Saturdays @ 11am-1pm Pacific 

Weekend intensives

This program will also include 3 weekend intensives, 2 days of learning, 5 hours/day:

  • Jan 23-24, 2027

  • Aug 7-8, 2027* (this retreat potentially hybrid/in-person for those who can attend; costs not included; TBD)

About Renee Sills

Renee Sills is a multidisciplinary artist, author, astrologer, educator, and founder of Embodied Astrology. They are a second generation astrologer and lifelong student of somatic healing practices. They hold a BFA in Intermedia & Cyber Art and an MFA in Contemporary Art in Social Practice and approach their work with astrology and embodiment as processes of ritual performance and participatory art. The throughline of their work is ongoing investigation of interrelatedness, spirituality, mindfulness, creative agency, and the adaptive processes of the human body in contemporary landscapes of the anthropocene. 

Renee has worked as consulting astrologer since 2014 and has read for thousands of clients. In addition to individual readings, they offer monthly and yearly sign-based horoscopes and collective readings, and they tend the Embodied Astrology virtual learning space – a vibrant and growing online community that celebrates and explores creative, experiential, fugitive, feminist, and somatic forms of astrology. FAQs

  • Your Chart is a Body (Foundations) is a self-paced, asynchronous course with no live events or elements.

    The practitioner program is a guided, 12-month deep study that includes biweekly live sessions with Renee in which we will review, work with and apply the foundations materials from the YCIAB self-paced course.

    This program is an opportunity to work directly with Renee and a cohort of fellow students, to put the foundations materials into practice, to receive support and feedback and to benefit from the accountability and structure of moving through the course materials with a live cohort.

  • The live sessions will include:

    • Embodied, experiential practice and real-time application of the YCIAB foundations course material

    • Opportunities for real-time process, discussion and Q&A with YCIAB course materials

    • Practices and presentations that expand on and advance YCIAB foundations course materials

    • Group practice reading charts together with real-time feedback and reflection

    • Guidance and practice in developing clairsentient and intuitive connections with charts and bodies

    • Guidance and practice with methods of energetic (nonverbal) communication and somatic transmission

    • Practice prompts for continuing outside of the live sessions with study groups comprised of fellow course participants

  • This practitioners program takes a unique and innovative approach to working with astrology and emphasizes development of clairsentient (clear sensing) intuition.

    Foundational elements and mechanics of working with tropical astrology charts will be covered, and beginners will learn how to work with the primary ingredients of chart reading.

    Intermediate and advanced practitioners will appreciate a fresh approach to the foundations that moves beyond traditional formulas and rule-based applications. Practitioners of all levels will have the opportunity to develop their capacities for direct transmission of embodied, experiential and intuitive information.

  • Live sessions will take place weekly, day/time TBD and subject to the group’s availability. Possible days/times are:

    • Wednesdays @ 9-11am Pacific

    • Thursdays @ 4-6pm Pacific

    • Saturdays @ 11am - 1pm Pacific

  • Between each biweekly session with Renee, folks can expect between 1-3 hours of required self-study. This includes reviewing the YCIAB foundations course materials.

    Prompts and suggestions for further self-study and group practice will be offered for those who are interested and able to dedicate additional time.
