In this place, we’ll grant ourselves radical permission to court our desires, chase the threads of our unique interests, and (re)discover who we are and what we’re here to offer.

These times are intense, and they demand we bring ourselves to the moment - that we offer our gifts. But how can we know what we have to give when we’ve been taught to deny our truths, squash our desires, and hide what makes us unique?

Jupiter’s transit through Leo is an opportunity to expand our self-conception, to explore and embrace where we are uniquely abundant. This is both challenging and deeply important work, in a society that aims to orient us to scarcity and lack.

We’re told (and tell ourselves) we need to be more X before we can do Y, but is that true? Perhaps we just need an opportunity to take stock of ourselves, take a closer look at who we are and what we desire. Perhaps we just need a little Leo spotlighting and cheerleading, to coax our authentic selves out from the shadows.

We’ll gather monthly over this year-long series, to feel into the energy of each zodiacal season and its associated planets and houses. After a group discussion on the astrological energies at play, we’ll work with prompts to dive further into our personal associations with them.

Then, we’ll break off to play! Spending the rest of the season in creative devotion and research of our choosing (equipped with a long list of possible jumping-off points). The goal is to notice our unique desires, and follow our impulses wherever they lead.

The following month, we’ll share back with the group: what we discovered, what we made, how it went, how we felt.

Between monthly gatherings, we’ll also hold 2 ‘playdates’ (body-doubling calls) for those wanting company and/or accountability.

Alisha Mawji (she/they) is a space holder and operations coordinator at Embodied Astrology. She’s a Leo rising, Taurus sun, Libra moon currently living in Tenochtitlan, aka Mexico City.

Her mind often wanders to what drives our behavior as human animals, and finds astrology a deeply informative lens through which to experience the world and those in it.   • At minimum, basic familiarity with your natal chart, and keyword associations with your placements are encouraged for this series.

    If you are newer to astrology and interested in this series, please keep in mind that most of the work of exploring our charts will happen between monthly sessions and is intended to be highly self-directed.

  • We will meet once a month for 3 hours.

    In between monthly gatherings, there will also be two 90-minute ‘playdates’, optional to attend, for those desiring company and/or accountability in their self-exploration.

  • The Solar Playground will be open on Fridays or Saturdays @ 10am - 1pm Pacific. Timing to be determined by participants - vote here!

    The two 90-minute ‘playdates’ - group body-doubling sessions - will take place at the same time as our monthly gatherings, on the off-weeks.

  • Yes, all sessions will be recorded. However, there will be two sets of recordings: one for folks in the live group, and one for folks in the asynchronous group. Folks participating asynchronously will not see the group sharing portion of our live sessions.

  • This is entirely up to you! We will meet once a month for 3 hours, and will offer another 3 hours of optional body-doubling ‘playdates’ per month for company and accountability.

    You can spend as much or as little time diving into your creative play and research outside of this as you would like. <3

  • We’re trying something new here! This option is for folks who either cannot attend live, or would prefer to work through the series on their own terms/timeline.

    Folks participating asynchronously will receive all recordings of our live sessions* and will also be part of our series conversation space on Circle so they can participate and share their process there.
