Dangerous Women: Eris & Other Legacies of Feminine Disrupters in Astrological Archetypes with Renee Sills and Aziz Bisanz

In this session Aziz Bisanz will be joined by Renee Sills for an exploration of “dangerous women” archetypes in astrology through the lens of the dwarf planet Eris and her long transit through Aries.

Since her discovery in 2005, Eris has carried an aura of controversy and disruption. Named for the Greek goddess of discord, Eris is often associated with conflict, agitation, outsider perspectives, and the destabilizing force of those who refuse exclusion or silence. Her discovery famously contributed to Pluto’s reclassification as a dwarf planet, symbolically linking Eris to themes of dethroning, decentralization, and the disruption of established orders.

In astrology, Eris has come to represent the archetypal energies that dominant cultures frequently fear and punish: unruly truth-telling, refusal of compliance, collective unrest, gendered projections, rage born from exclusion, and the catalytic power of those cast as threatening or “too much.” As Eris continues her decades-long journey through Aries—and as Neptune and Saturn move into Aries alongside her—the tensions between individuality, conflict, survival, embodiment, and resistance become increasingly amplified within both personal and collective life. 

This session will weave together space science and astronomical context, mythic and astrological interpretation, embodiment practice, and personal reflection. Participants will be invited to contemplate Eris in their natal charts, explore the stories projected onto “dangerous women” across history and culture, and engage with the current collective moment through practices that support discernment, courage, relational awareness, and embodied presence.

Join Embodied Astrology founder Renee Sills and astrologer, core pattern, and tarot reader,  Aerin Fogel for a live virtual solstice gathering on June 21, 2026, from 10am–12pm Pacific. Together, they’ll explore a potent astrological threshold shaped by the final days of Jupiter in Cancer, the Sun’s sextile to Chiron, and Chiron’s first ingress into Taurus after eight years in Aries.

This conversation will reflect on what it means to belong in times of profound cultural and personal transition. As Jupiter completes its year in Cancer and prepares to enter Leo on June 30, themes of home, family, nourishment, protection, and social inclusion come sharply into focus. Renee and Aerin will explore how vulnerability, shame, care, and inherited family dynamics shape our sense of belonging—and how these stories reverberate through collective life.

The event will also center Chiron’s movement into Taurus, beginning a new cycle around embodiment, security, survival, value, and relational healing. Drawing from mythic and psychological astrology, we’ll explore Chiron’s role as foster parent and guide to heroic figures such as Heracles, Achilles, Jason, and Asclepius, inviting reflection on forms of heroism rooted not in conquest or domination, but in tenderness, interdependence, and the protection of vulnerability.

Audience members will be invited to ask questions and join this intimate and thoughtful conversation weaving astrology, myth, culture, and lived experience during this year’s solstice season.

About the Series

As Saturn and Neptune begin their next cycle in the sign of Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, we are invited into a spiritual initiation, rooted in the realities of occupation and colonial violence in our communities, and collective resistance to it. 

This is spirituality which remembers the past, is fluid yet steadfast in meeting the present, and is not only willing to dream wildly into the future we most desire, but to fight tooth and nail for it. Saturn and Neptune together in Aries remind us that the spiritual and the political are, and have always been, interwoven and inextricably linked. 

Only in recent history have spirituality and activism been siloed from one another, creating the illusion that they are somehow at odds. In reality, spiritual practice has always been The People’s secret weapon for resisting. 

Land-based spiritual practices that affirm commitment to life and relationships have always been core components of sustainability, community resilience, and collective power. This series invites us to strengthen and evolve these practices, and explores ways we can do so in right relationship with land, our ancestors, and communities, while also countering intentional targeting by colonial forces.

In this series, with the support of astrological archetypes and stories, we will: explore rituals, spells, and rites of passage that support our bodies in rooting into ancestral memory and guidance; cultivating deeper intuitive and divinatory awareness; dreaming into and weaving new webs and worlds; sustaining fierce, steadfast and irresistible revolution; grounding into protection, dispelling curses; and allowing outdated protective structures to die so that we may step into the fire of this spiritual initiation with conviction and heart centered determination.

Throughout the monthly sessions, we will explore the dance between the individual and the collective, and how these practices not only deepen our embodied relationship to one another, but also support us in clarifying our individual spiritual calling within this collective moment.

REGISTER FOR THIS LIVE WORKSHOP

This live virtual workshop will take place on Zoom on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 8-10am Pacific.

The planet Neptune is not visible to the naked eye; it was the first planet located through mathematical prediction rather than direct observation. Indigenous peoples across the world, however, had known of Neptune and other bodies beyond the naked-eye range long before telescopes existed. 

Neptune asks us to tap into a knowing that is far more subtle than material or colonial markers. Saturn reminds us that we are part of an unbroken chain of wisdom, a legacy of movement passed down to us across generations. Together in Aries, they invite us to trust a navigation system that goes beyond visual and physical markers — one that is also in living relationship with a dynamic physical world.

In this session, facilitated by Aziz Bisanz and Alanna Quock, we will practice finding body states that open different ways of seeing and knowing; work with impulse as intelligence; and learn to differentiate vigilance from deeper knowing. We will drop into a navigation system that is ancient, ancestral, and guided by spirit.

Alanna Quock grew up along the Yukon River and lives in the swiya of the shíshálh Nation. Her bones have Tāłtān, Tlingit, Celtic, northern, and coastal roots. A recent graduate of Renee Sills’ Your Chart is a Body practitioner program and currently studying with Dora Kamau in Into The Depths, she brings twenty years of relational practice in Indigenous communities — deep listening, sitting with tension, and attending to what moves beneath the surface. She is learning to trust the knowing in her bones and follow the thread of not knowing.

Aziz Bisanz is a queer + trans + Lebanese-American cultural worker, somatic therapist, and astrologer living in Minneapolis. Inhabiting liminal spaces, borderlands and intersections of experience has shaped him as a person and he brings this perspective to his offerings.

Aziz believes in the importance of connecting to land, body, ancestors, and community as integral parts of healing and aliveness. The personal + the collective are in constant conversation with one another, and each deeply informs the other. Mni Sota Makoce, the land where Aziz lives, in tandem with his ancestral homelands are his most valued teachers and these relationships are the foundation of his offerings. A percentage of the proceeds from this series will go to support Aziz’s most impacted neighbors and the mutual aid groups working tirelessly to care for their community.
