This drop-in workshop is part of a 10-part series, Saturn/Neptune in Aries - An Initiation Into Spiritual Warriorship with Aziz Bisanz, a monthly series from March through December, 2026. Click here to register for the full series including access to recordings of all sessions.
In the first session of the series, we began to build the foundations for grounded and relational spiritual practice by learning about the lesser known qualities of Mars (the ruler of Aries) as land protector and guardian of the dead. There are many untold stories about perceived masculine archetypes, who are in deep alignment and interconnection with the feminine, cyclical, and life-affirming natures of the land that colonialism has co-opted for its violent and femicidal purposes. Many archetypes we may see as purely masculine or feminine, in reality, embody many energies and hold a more trans(gressive) nature.
In this session, we will explore the understory of masculinity and transness through the lens of the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, alongside the myths of Dionysus, Hermes, and Chiron. Guest facilitator Anders Renee will lead us through an embodied pentacle protection practice to support autonomy, bodily sovereignty and to protect the sacred masculinity that we all hold in our bodies.
This session is in conversation with the June session of this series, when Renee Sills brought in the deeper story lines and embodied practices of Eris and adjacent, feral, feminine archetypes that defy femininity, but also more clearly define the more ancient and Indigenous ways of understanding this nuanced quality of being.
*People of all genders are encouraged to attend this workshop with a special invitation to our trans community.

Anders Renee has nurtured his love of the stars since age 11 when he chose astrology for his 6th grade research project. He started taking classes with AstroBarry in 2013 and completed the first year program at Portland School of Astrology in 2016. Anders was the astrologer at The Raven’s Wing Magical Co-op in Oakland from 2019-2023.
In addition to being an astrologer, Anders is also a white, transgender, queer, witch living in recovery on the unceded lands of the Ohlone people in Oakland, CA. His spiritual belief is grounded in Animism—the idea that a spiritual energy is present in everything, which of course includes the planets! He has been a member of the Reclaiming community in the Bay Area since 2017.
Anders loves dancing, playing non-competitive board games, cuddling his two cats, doing ritual, putting his body in bodies of water, looking for cool rocks, and rocking cool socks.
Aziz Bisanz is a queer + trans + Lebanese-American cultural worker, somatic therapist, and astrologer living in Minneapolis. Inhabiting liminal spaces, borderlands and intersections of experience has shaped him as a person and he brings this perspective to his offerings.
Aziz believes in the importance of connecting to land, body, ancestors, and community as integral parts of healing and aliveness. The personal + the collective are in constant conversation with one another, and each deeply informs the other. Mni Sota Makoce, the land where Aziz lives, in tandem with his ancestral homelands are his most valued teachers and these relationships are the foundation of his offerings. Learn more about Aziz here.
A percentage of the proceeds from this series will go to support Aziz’s most impacted neighbors and the mutual aid groups working tirelessly to care for their community.
Scholarshipsare available for those who need them.
