Oct 27: The Combahee River Raid and Astrological Talismans for Prophetic Dreaming

It’s been said that Harriet Tubman could access dream states even in broad daylight. But, one night, she had a dream in which she envisioned the liberation of her people. Among the freedoms she saw was the end of chattel slavery in the United States. That morning, she awoke full of joy and possibility and, all day long, she repeated the words: “My people are free.”

Not one year later, on June 2nd, 1863, beneath the cover of a total lunar eclipse and the light of the north star, Tubman and her army of spirit-guided spies led a revolt along the Combahee River in South Carolina, also known as the River Jordan, that liberated over 800 enslaved people. The Combahee River Raid occurred during the Saturn-Neptune opposition that year, a configuration which points to dreams of liberation from oppression becoming reality.

Accounts of the raid and the efforts that led to it speak of the fusion of incredible tact alongside a deep alignment with the divine, to support the plan to be carried through. The integration of these energies illustrates the support of Saturn and Neptune’s energies in opposition (along with several other planetary alignments) that day.

Only now, in 2026, has Neptune returned to the sign of Aries, where it was during the raid of 1863, having completed its 165 year cycle. This first return of Neptune to Aries, as well as this pivotal point in the Saturn-Neptune cycle, invite us toward the inherited lessons from that time.

In this session, Aziz and special guest and astrologer, Imani Harmon, will invite us to work with the chart of the Combahee River Raid as the manifestation of Tubman’s prophetic dream. Aziz and Imani will also share the astrological talismans that support our connection to deep dream states, and how they may guide us in practices of spiritual warriorship.
