About this event

How can we work with Afrofuturism and other speculative modalities, in conjunction with astrology, to articulate a people’s vision of the 21st century?

The 2020s have already shown themselves to be the gateway into the new millennium . Climate disruption, currency inflation, racial reckoning, forced migration, the specter of AI and other post-normal, runaway trends compel us to face tomorrow afresh.

Aligning with the rare planetary occurrence of Uranus conjunct Jupiter in the sign of Taurus, the Electric Black Earth Festival harnesses Afrofuturist, ancestral, alter-temporal, imaginative, psychedelic and somatic strategies to reclaim the notion of “the future" from corporate hegemonies.

We will plot new timelines and lay poly-cultural foundations for prosperous and abundant multi-species democracies, and re-Indigenized, communal, planetary bioluminescent futures.
